Dr. David C. Penn is certified by the National Association of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapists (NACBT); National Board of Christian Clinical Therapists (NBCCT); National Board of Christian Professional and Pastoral Counselors (NBCPPC); American Association of Biblical Counselors (AABC); and the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA). He is a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor and Temperament Therapist with Advanced Supervisory Certification in addition to being an Illinois Notary Public .
Additional affiliations are held with the American Counseling Association (ACA); American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC); International Association of Biblical Counseling (IABC); Southern Africa Association of Pastoral Work (SAAP); and the Christian Association of Psychological Studies (CAPS).
Dr. Penn is a graduate of Rochester University (A.A. - B.A.); Saint Xavier University (M.A. - Educational Administration and Supervision); City University of Seattle, Washington (M.Ed. - Curriculum & Instruction); International Theological Seminary (M.R.E.); Northwestern Theological Seminary (Ph.D. - Systematic Theology); Colorado Theological Seminary (Ph.D. - Clinical Pastoral Counseling); University of Nebraska (M.A. - History); Concordia University of Chicago (Ph.D. - Educational Leadership); California Coast University (Ed.D. - Educational Administration); University of Missouri (Ed.S. - Educational Administration Specialist); North Central Theological Seminary (D.Min.); and the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA). Dr. David C. Penn is also licensed in the states of Illinois and Tennessee as a "No Child Left Behind" (NCLB) Social Science educator and public school administrator. His endorsements include World History, United States History, Economics, Civics, Geography, and Political Science.
Dr. Penn received a Graduate Certificate in School Superintendency from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas, and he has obtained a Superintendent endorsement from the state of Illinois. He is also recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education as a "Qualified Teacher Evaluator" having successfully completed each of the five modules pertinent to the Illinois Performance Evaluation Reform Act (PERA).
